Surrey Choices Managing Director
Salary: up to £100k
Surrey Choices delivers a wide range of day and community support services such as Shared Lives, vocational training and skills enhancement, and supported employment. We were established as a trading company by Surrey County Council in 2014. We’ve had a good year, and our departing Managing Director leaves a legacy of surplus and a clear strategic vison for the future: now we need a new leader to take up the baton.
The organisation has c350 staff and a turnover of £14m. From 23 sites across Surrey we serve c1600 people over 18 years of age who have learning, mental, physical or sensory disability. Last year saw, for the first time since our inception, a surplus. We also won our first external contract for work, and move further to establishing ourselves as less dependent on the Council as our sole stakeholder. As our new Managing Director, you’ll continue to bring confidence to our commissioners, building on our fresh co-production approach to joint delivery. You’ll also motivate our staff to continue to grow and to operate more commercially.
You’ll have worked in the private/public interface and will know how to run a profitable organisation, but will understand that we’re here to provide a high quality service to our communities too. Your extensive experience of working in the social care (be that private, public, voluntary) and the NHS or direct health delivery services in organisations of similar size and complexity, will ably equip you to be the leader we are seeking. This, combined with strategic planning skills, and sound financial acumen including the ability to lead effective contract negotiations and bids, will qualify you to take Surrey Choices to the next level of its development.
So if providing excellent services for our customers, their families and carers is important to you, then we hope the brief attached here will be of interest to you. We look forward to hearing from you.
